It’s been about over a year, and we all live on the internet. Legitimately live on the internet. Social media platforms being the place we conduct our lives and our lifestyles. It is where we consume the news. The content we like and stay connected with our friends and family. It has become one of the main, if not the main, ways we conduct our business and live our lives. All the nuances of every social media platform have come to light. Now we understand that each of these platforms has its own way of behaving, building up momentum, and way of servicing a need.

What do I mean? In general, people go to Facebook to connect with family, friends and to stay updated with the lives of others. These being on the top rung of the ladder as to reasons why you are on Facebook. And then now Facebook Messenger has also become one of the leading instant messengers that people have gotten accustomed to and feel comfortable with. Being on Facebook, you are there to stay updated and consume a little bit of content that you like from the platforms, the content outlets that you follow.

This is absolutely different from being on Instagram. Instagram is more about inspiration and aspiration. Following the brands, the outlets, and the people you like and look up to or want to become. And so, the behavior is different in the sense that you are more observant since it’s heavily relying on imagery. And at the same time, the interaction is quite different. Even the expression of interest is different and has other implications.

Now let’s talk about the star of the show, the underrated underdog, LinkedIn. Now LinkedIn has evolved through the years and has become known for being the professional social network. The recruitment, social network, the jobs, and so. You could tell immediately the moment you sign up, that it is very kind of stiff, manicured, sanitized, and very strict about how the game is played on the platform. The goal is to connect with like-minded business people and to build a relevant enough network so that you can grow. LinkedIn has grown to become a lead generation place, which is kind of weird. Because if you think about it, it’s a professional network. It has grown to become a lead generation place because it is where business relationships can be started. And if it is done right, you could actually build a strong presence and reputation on LinkedIn. It is a combination of optimizing your profile and putting in the right frequency for your posts. And at the same time connecting with the right people in the proper manner.

Stop using automation; people smell through that crap instantly. So. In 2021, as we continue to navigate and maneuver through “foreign waters”. We must keep an open heart and mind about how we go into social media networks and how we move within them. Let us stay observant. Let us have a keen eye and let us enjoy the process as we grow in Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn. I mean, God knows there’s more to talk about, but this is medium, and we want to keep it short and brief so that you enjoy it. Thanks. Peace. Peace.
